The Foodie Guide

For the Foodies in Oklahoma City, many new restaurants are in your future to try. No longer must you eat at boring chain restaurants with the same menu options. Below I have listed a variety of local flavors all from different food groups. BEWARE: dangerous looking pictures are below, do not read while hungry!

The Mule

The Mule is one of the hottest restaurants in OKC right now, and they know how to make a mean sandie (sandwich), as they call it. It doesn’t matter the kind you choose, the toasted melt sandwiches will have your mouth watering. The menu is full of delicious flavors all combined to make the perfect sandie. A personal favorite would definitely have to be the Caprese, the mozzarella melts right into your mouth. If you aren’t into the bread of a sandwich, that is okay. The Mule knows how to  make a wonderful salad. My suggestion is the beet salad. It is a light summer meal that has you feeling refreshed and satisfied!

The Wedge

If you are craving a pizza, search no longer! The Wedge is the go to whether it is carry out or you are dining on the patio. The pizzas are fired in a brick oven to get the perfect crisp for every bite. The vegetables and meat are always fresh ingredients, guaranteeing you quality. And the best part is you have the option to build your own pizza. If you think you are a chef, as I often do, this is the place for you!  The Wedge also has a menu of delightful salads pasta in case pizza isn’t your thing.

Iguana Mexican Grill

Located in Midtown, Iguana Mexican Grill has been many of the locals favorite. A twist on your regular Mexican meal, the chefs know how to pair modern with traditional tastes. The fish tacos have always been my goto when I am not feeling adventurous. But the menu is full of all sorts of recipes that you will want to try a new item every visit. On occasion they make chilled avocado and coconut soup and my oh my I could eat it three times a day. The toppings give it the perfect sweetness and crunch. Iguana also makes a heavenly margarita, you better hurry in, it is waiting on you;)

Yuzo Sushi Tapas

Yuzo is a newer addition to OKC and located in Automobile Alley. This is a great restaurant to catch up with your girlfriends over tapas and a martini. The atmosphere is elegant and always great customer service. If you enjoy your food raw, the sashimi taste fresh and is served with exquisite presentation. The poke bowl offered at Yuzo is a healthy and filling meal that I eat often for lunch. The next sushi craving, you know the place to try!
